Lake Effect Coffee Company

There are lots of coffee shops, and there are some that are very good. This was my first time at Lake Effect and I was very impressed. Will definitely be back. It's an old shaped space, due to it's location at the intersection of national and greenfield. It's long and narrow, which allows more private/cozy seating areas, and there is plenty of light. It has a clean, modern feel to it. It was Saturday, late morning, and there were a few other people there. After entering, got an immediate greeting by both the barista and the person at the register. Sure, it wasn't busy, but after meeting these two, I suspect that they go out of their way to warmly/sincerely greet everyone. I ordered a London Fog Latte, and they made it perfectly to my order (a little vanilla, a little lavender, and extra foam). They prepared it in a glass mug, and I swear, it was a work of art. I also had a walnut cranberry scone. They offered to warm it up, which took several minutes in the toaster oven (better than a microwave), and it was worth the wait. The scone was an "actual" scone. Not one of other muffins, or breads that try to disguise themselves as a scone. This was a little crusty on the outside (with Turbinado sugar), dry, and somewhat crumbly. (I asked and apparently they get these from "City Market", where I have also had good bakery). I know that I have spent a long paragraph on my order, but hey, this is why some of search out for a good coffee shop experience. We had a group of four, and found a quiet spot towards the rear. Other people showed up around us, but everyone seemed to be mindful of their voices. A super first time experience. Definitely a place that I would come back to visit.

Great finding today! The service was great and fast. First time seeing Nitro Chai Latte and did not disappoint. If you are looking for a nice atmosphere, friendly people and tasty coffee/chai, I would suggest to stop by.

By far the best coffee shop in the Milwaukee area! The ambience is peaceful and earthy. The staff is so friendly and kind, it makes the whole experience here so enjoyable! All their drinks are amazing, I've tried the banana bread latte and the berry espresso tonic. Two unique drinks with house-made syrups, they were awesome!

I love this place. I usually come here before or after church (which is connected to the church). They have a good variety of coffee and bakery and other beverages that are not coffee like juice for the people and children who don't drink coffee. I highly recommend coming here to checkout this place. They have great employees and the owner of the coffee shop.

We really enjoyed stopping by Lake Effect! It was our first visit, and we would definitely return. Spacious, very nice atmosphere, plenty of seating, friendly service. We chose the Nitro Cold Brew Coffee and a standard hot coffee, a long with a Blueberry Muffin and Very Berry White Chocolate Muffin. The muffins were delicious, and the coffee was good!

Great coffee shop with delicious baked goods. The Harvest Honey and lavender lattes were great. Our kids shared a chocolate chunk cookie and loved it.

Love the Internet policy, makes it really easy to come in for a quick cup of coffee while working, Nick's incredible service makes you feel comfortable staying as long as you want. Lot's of outlets, and good setup with spacing so you don't feel like you're right on top of anyone fighting over an outlet.

Amazing tea selection, and the baristas know the teas just as well as they know their coffee! It’s brewed with care and timed individually, and they even did a blend of loose leaf for me and gave me great recs. Plenty of seating with outlets, chill and cozy atmosphere without feeling cramped. Wish I still lived here, I’d be here all the time lol.
